Title: Lead Artist  
Reporting to: Producer
 
Job Summary:
Duties:
  • Ensure the supervision of members of the artistic team (modeler, level artist, texturer, special effects artist and lighting designer)
  • Plan and divide the tasks of the employees under his supervision or make sure that the supervisor gives him a report of his team’s tasks
  • Elaborate the timeline under the time, technical and artistic constraints
  • Make sure, in association with the Art Technical Director, to provide the necessary tools or to develop them for his team
  • Interact with the Art Director in order to understand the direction well and to effectively share it with his team
  • Innovate and solve artistic problems to improve work processes
  • Work efficiently with the Programming team and Design team
  • Seek a visual and technical innovating point of view, in the way of working with the creative processes
  • Inform in a precise manner the processes and procedures
  • Push back and redefine the limits of the systems and of the art for the projects
  • Interact and communicate in an effective way with the administrators at the level of the project.


 

Person Specification:

 

Profile  Essential
 
Experience and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as 3D Artist; at least 1 year as Lead Artist
  • College or University degree in Art 2D and 3D and/or equivalent training
  • Minimum of 2 titles published, preferably next generation
  • Bilingual
Technical Skills
  • Experience of 2D and 3D software, an asset
  • Knowledge of trades related to the production of video games
  • Thorough knowledge of the technical devices and different game platforms

  • Provide leadership and have a good sense of responsibility
  • Have a good ability to express ideas
  • Focus on achieving superior results
  • Be a strong team player
  • Have an analytical and synthetical mindset
  • Have the ability to adapt to changes and be able to work under pressure within the agreed timeframes
