| Title: Special Effect Artist |

Job Summary:
Duties: |
- Create all aspects of 2D and 3D game effects. This includes particle systems, animating textures, polygonal effects meshes, and assets that may be used procedurally by programmers
- May contribute to design and/or conceptualization efforts as needed
- Help create foundational particle systems for game engine using proprietary tools
- Create polygonal and texture effects assets to be used by programmers
- Work closely with programmers to ensure visual quality of procedural effects
- Using 3D software, simulate and render animations of in-game effects as proof-of-concept for current and future hardware
- Create realistic effects such as fire, smoke, and explosions using limited game resources
- Meet project deadlines / milestones as set by project leads
- Actively participate in team / department meetings

| Experience and Qualifications |
- 3 to 5 years experience as a 3D artist real time (Special Effect Artist, Level Artist, Model Artist, Texturer, Assistant Art Technical Director).

| Technical Skills |
- Ability to model and texture in 3D
- Experience with particle effects
- Strong technical aptitude related to 3D modeling tools and game engine technologies
- Fluent knowledge of Maya and Photoshop
- Ability to be receptive to art direction and to perform well within a collaborative team environment
