TECHNICAL QA MANAGER

REPORTS TO: QA MANAGER

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the delivery and growth of best-in-class technical analyses of game performance, analytics, security, connectivity, and compatibility by the Square Enix Technical QA (TQA) team;
  • Manage and support the TQA team with respect to hiring and professional development, in line with industry and consumer expectations;
  • Provide budgetary feedback and manage human and material resources for the TQA team, across products;
  • Monitor QA data to ensure compliance with departmental standards;
  • Maintain proficiency via training and personal skill development;
  • Inform and champion effective training and improvement plans for the TQA team, in line with Square Enix administrative policies;
  • Drive implementation of tools and processes necessary for the TQA team to provide timely and accurate feedback to stakeholders;
  • Engage with developers, external test partners and hardware manufacturers as needed for technical analysis and reporting;
  • Liaise with other Service Line Managers and PMs to maximize efficiency of the TQA group;
  • Exemplify an exceptional standard of work ethic and technical competence.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma;
  • College Degree an asset;
  • 6+ years of QA experience in a QA environment with knowledge of QA practices and procedures;
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification an asset;
  • 2+ years managing teams in a software QA environment;
  • Knowledge of JIRA or equivalent defect tracking database;
  • Knowledge of test case scoping, techniques, management, and tools;
  • French speaking/writing skills required;
  • Strong language skills (written English);
  • Familiarity with programming languages (C#, C++, Python);
  • Strong knowledge of PC software and networking diagnostic tools;
  • Strong knowledge of performance benchmark analysis techniques;
  • Working knowledge of console hardware and tools;
  • Experience in leading teams, preferably software test teams.
