Title: Director Animation

Reports to: Producer

Job Summary:

  • Develop the artistic direction of the animations for the game following the storyline and the game experience;
  • Elaborate the visual references of the animation artistic direction which will be used as a guide for the animation team to maintain required standards of quality;
  • If needed, evaluate outsourcing options for animations;
  • Identify outsourcing companies in partnership with the Producer;
  • Work closely with Game Designers to assess their needs in animation and the production timelines;
  • Work closely with the Art Direction in order to give a common sense to the project;
  • Evaluate and communicate the art direction in the tasks done by the animation team, while distributing tasks according to individual abilities;
  • Participate in yearly performance evaluation.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Diploma in 3D animation or equivalent experience;
  • At least 5 years experience in 3D animation, at least 3 years as an Art Assistant/Director in Animation;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional Animation;


Technical Skills

  • Versatile and exceptional mastering skills in 3D animation;
  • Excellent knowledge of human anatomy physiological reactions, body language and proportions in character design;
  • Working knowledge of hardware platform limitations;
  • Knowledge in Animation software such as Motion Builder, Face Fx and Maya;


Interpersonal Skills

  • Experience in project management;
  • Ability to communicate, coach and mobilize a working team;
  • Ability to express and share the artistic direction;
  • Ability to express ideas and listen to others;
  • Be focused on achieving superior results;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability of being analytic ;
